Sunday 28th September - Porpoises at St Bees

Still no water in the Lakes, so we headed down to St Bees in the hope that the surf I had seen on Saturday would still give some fun. Sadly not - everything had flattened off and the Irish Sea was in a particularly benign mood.
Paul thought he'd spotted something from the carpark and, once we were on the water, we both saw the porpoises. A good half mile off the beach and heading north, possibly a dozen or so, broaching regularly but not letting us get too close. OK - no surf, but well worth getting out to sea - if you see what I mean...
